Bug Activity Ideas

To finish up our Bug Unit we went to our Zoo.

We had a great time climbing on the Spider Web,
Looking at the Tarantulas and all of the other bugs...

So much fun that I didn't take pictures of any of the educational stuff...In my defence, I was alone with 3 little kids and Baby H:)

It was a fun way to extend her learning.

There are so many fun activities to do with bugs.
I thought I would add a few here to spark you interest.

Isn't this beautiful!
I love the green sand and the cup of magnifying glasses.

She used a box and lined it with silver paper.
It created a wonderful way to look at plants and bugs.
Amazing stuff! I can't wait to do this next bug unit.
Go here to see exactly how she did it.

She takes any idea and helps her children learn it inside and out.

She has an actual Venus Fly Trap plant growing in her house.
To help her children learn more,
They created small lady bugs that the Venus Fly Trap could eat.

I have some more bug activities on my Pinterest boards.
So go here if you are hungry for more!

What fun things have you done to learn about bugs?

  1. Thanks for the mention! Our venus fly trap just blossomed - even I learned something - I had no idea they grew flowers.

  4. I took my grandson to the zoo this weekend and we had such a great time!

He loved the monkeys (and I couldn't help but notice that their behavior was quite similar to his behavior)...

  5. My children loved learning about bugs and since they hate spiders, I gues that means they think spiders are NOT bugs.

The thing I love about doing things with my Grands is that I always learn so much right along with them.
